Description: Online training with immediate access upon enrollment. Federal enforcement authorities aggressively fight fraud and abuse in the pharmaceutical industry, and much of their scrutiny is directed at pharmaceutical sales representatives who are responsible for marketing drugs to physicians. This course provides an introductory discussion of some of the key legal issues regarding healthcare and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that pharmaceutical sales representatives and their employers need to be aware of, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act, and the laws against off-label promotion. It also presents some of the ways sales reps and their employers can get guidance when they`re unsure if their conduct is unlawful.
Certification Requirements: Students must view the entire program and successfully pass an online, multiple-choice final assessment with >80% passing grade within a 90 day period of time (180 days for Professional Certification Programs).
